Your motivating words have moved me to tears .... ! Your dedication in connecting to the cubs have also moved us SAs. You never fail to grab every opportunity to have dialogue with the cubs and it is through such session that they warm up and start bonding with each other.

Especially for the Amazing Race when both Yean Fong and Lye Chan were seconded to help out and I'm left alone. You took lead in charging from one station to another ... I tell you, I'll not be able to do it. I was already limping behind by the time we get to the 3rd station.

It was you who drive out the unity in the cubs to search for their missing friend. The disappointing young faces made my heart sank and I was lost for a moment. I agree with you that Sok Cheng was very good at handling the situation ... you could see how happy the cubs were when they hear that they had won a bonus for their team spirit. It was valuable lesson for the kids too. They started to look out for the "boy" every time we need to move on to the next station and wouldn't leave his side until they are sure that I'm around to look after the "boy". They also started to encourage his participation in all the games. You see the buddha nature emerging in our precious Lion Cubs ... our successors!

When we saw that we are the winning group the cubs were really excited, they even agreed to let the "boy" go on stage for the award but of course that didn't happen as there was no such award and they went home with a disappointed heart.

May I suggest that we have a group award for our next camp. We want to emphasize to the children that they need to be all-rounders and not just good in a specific area. We need to instill into the children that to be winners we need to have EQ (emotional quotient) too not just performing or playing games. Team spirit, team work, attentiveness, mannerism and following instructions are some but not the complete list.

I want to take this opportunity to mention another "sunshine" khor khor - Dezmon, my partner in "crime" for last year's PDA. He was checking on the boys when we make our round ... I think it was around 2am. The effort and dedication you guys put in is way above what is needed of you for this camp. With you guys around we are very sure our LCs are in good hands when they graduate to FD ... WO MEN FANG XIN LE !!!!
