Sister i love you

I remember reading an article once when i was still in secondary school. The story goes by the narrator having a cold brother whom he always thought never really cared for him, until the day narrator had to go for blood marrow transfusion and at the brink of dying, the narrator woke up in hospital with his cold brother lying on the bed beside him, not uttering a word more. (apparently the cold brother cared, and gave him blood marrow)

The story greatly touched me, for it taught me one thing. You don't have to speak to love. Morrie (Tues with Morrie) once said," When an old couple hold hands, they don't have to speak, lots of love travels across their palms and exchanges."

Being an asian, we are taught the asian way naturally.even our way of showing affection and love. Except of cos for the case of a spouse,or partner, love is greatly displayed in the most affectionate (read biggest teddy bear, gigantic roses and cute red-heart shaped cards, chocolate, you get the idea) We show love to our gf/bf by our kiss/hug/buy gift actions, but we show love to our immediate family by throwing to our mom unwashed underwear, choked-up bills, piled up dishes in sink and coming back home late dead drunk.

I remembered a joke once,it questions for the meaning for the word Father. The definition for father= debtor provided by nature. Do we owe all this to our parents? Every parent loves their children, and even the most evil villain would love and protect their wife and children, that is the state of Bodhisattva. That's the greatest love of all (think Whitney)

I love my sister alot. but i'll never go and hug her and sing/express great love for her. I chose to remain as the cold brother whom is willing to go into hell just to bring her back, even if it means giving away my life. To me, that's what a brother is, and that's family.
