Everybody's out looking for their "soul mate", "Mr. Right" or "Mrs. Right," that one person, out of the billions of humans alive on this planet, that is meant for them and only them. This is the downfall of many relationships; one person yearning so badly to find their soul mate that if things aren't perfect or there are unexpected flaws in another person, they back off. Why? Because they don't know the true meaning of what a soul mate really is. It is a different meaning for every person, sure, but often, it is mistranslated as meaning someone who is 'perfect' for you. First of all, it should be known by now that nothing and nobody is perfect.
So then, what defines a soul mate? Simply, what it sates: someone whose soul is meant to be mating with yours. Not somebody who is 100% compatible or who is flawless, but a real, flawed human being that was only meant for you. A soul mate is your best friend - not just a lover, but a confidante that you can come to with anything and everything. A soul mate is someone with whom you simply *click*, without knowing why.

Don't we all wish to find our "soul mate?" It is part of our nature to seek someone who is right for us. Sometimes, we should let it come to us and not force it. Yes, I learned my lesson. I so wanted to believe she was right for me, I unconsciously molded myself to her way. I lost myself, my individuality. One day, I decided it was enough, she was not the one for me. I've been happier single, but now I seek what we all want, someone for me.
I believe that in order to have a connection with someone beyond the physical there has to be a spiritual connection. A spiritual connection goes above and beyond looks, it focuses on the quality of our minds, the goodness in our hearts, and the possibility of growth. It's a connection where, aside from their difference, both can come together and be joyful. Every human being wants to be happy and feel love and love another.
It is important being able to communicate openly with that special someone, it allows both to feel comfortable, understood, and appreciated. Comfortable, because there are hardly any awkward moments, there's trust, and being able to be yourself with flaws and virtues alike and not feel judged. Understood, because when the level of comprehension is extremely high, the ability to talk about anything and everything and be heard with an open-mind is priceless, and being able to come together to find the best solution to any given problem. Appreciated, because you know you can voice your disagreements, opinions, fear, joys, while making you feel valuable and worthy.
In a relationship of soul mates, neither is more or less than the other. Both have similar values, goals, and dreams. However, a sense of individuality is always present; that makes the bond stronger, because each respects the other as such and values the other's individual mind, and chose to be together and create a harmonious partnership. Ultimately, being yourself and being accepted, loved, and understood is what we seek.
Soul mates complement each other, they do not complete each other. Humans are not broken, or incomplete. I still hope to one day find my soul mate. One who will understand me, appreciate me, love me. For that to happen we should be open to the possibility of that happening, otherwise, what's the point? Might as well just settle for someone who won't make us happy, but be there so we don' feel lonely.
If that were the case, I'd rather be single.

5. Act based on "us".
When you are with him/her, you always act for both of you. You will make best decisions, not only for your self, but also for him/her. You are willing to share goals and work together. You would also always think how your actions will affect him/her and your relationship.
When these signs exist in a relationship you have, that means you are on the right path. You won't need to force anything. Everything will come naturally. Keep working on this relationship and good luck.
