In the movie, 10 promises to my dog, the mom, female lead, and male lead hummed a nostalgic, yet mysterious tune/song in the entire movie. "If you're lost, you can look.."
It was a 1984 made song, originally by Cyndi Lauper. After it hitting the top charts, the song was resang by more than 120 artistes, namely a few, Blaque, Matchbox twenty, Joey McIntyre, Everything but the girl, Sugar Ray, and many more. (btw you're listening to a tw singer, Freya Lin Fan's version.)
I first encounter this marvelous classic when watching Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion. To date i have 4 versions of this song.
A part of the song goes like:
If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall i will catch you i'll be waiting
Time after time
In fact the version i like would be Everything but the girl's.
What really appealed me to this song,is how simple and yet meaning the lyrics meant.
Simplistic lyrics doesn't mean simplicity.
Some things in life are deeded Timeless Classics. Like Le Corbusier's Chair, an Enstein's formulae or Richard Marx's Right here waiting.
To create something timeless is what i strive.
